Insurance recruitment

Insurance roles need the right licence, the right lines of business and people who can keep clients for years. We confirm licences with the provincial regulator and check how candidates handle renewals and claims.

Roles we recruit

  • Licensed brokers, personal and commercial lines
  • Commercial account executives and account managers
  • Underwriters
  • Claims adjusters and examiners
  • Life and benefits advisors
  • Risk managers
  • Brokerage operations managers

Why these roles are hard to fill

Licensing differs by province and line

In Ontario, property and casualty brokers are licensed by RIBO, while insurance agents and adjusters are licensed by FSRA. Other provinces have their own councils.

Lines of business are not interchangeable

Personal auto and home, commercial liability, construction surety and group benefits each take years to learn.

Book retention

For account executives, the question is how many clients they renew and grow. We ask for numbers and check with references.

Non-solicit clauses

Candidates from other brokerages may have restrictions. We ask early so they do not stop the hire at the offer stage.

How we screen candidates

  1. Role intake

Lines, carriers, licence needed, book size, systems (Epic, Power Broker and similar).

  2. Licence check

Status confirmed with the provincial regulator.

  3. Results interview

Retention, new business, claims handled, service standards.

  4. Shortlist with notes

Licences, restrictions from past employers, availability and salary expectations.

Common questions

Can you find brokers who are already licensed?

Yes. Licensed candidates are the default. If you are open to training a newcomer to get licensed, tell us at intake and we widen the search.

Do you recruit for insurers as well as brokerages?

Yes, including underwriting and claims roles at insurers and MGAs.

How do you handle non-solicit agreements?

We ask candidates about restrictions early and suggest they get advice. We do not give legal opinions on those agreements.

Hiring, or stuck on an HR question?

Tell us what you need. We reply by email to set up a short free call, and send a written agreement before any work starts.
